About Curieuse.com

An independent guide to one small island, written to be useful.

Curieuse.com exists to answer the questions people actually ask before visiting Curieuse: how to get there, which boat trip to book, what the tortoises are like, when the sea is calm, what to bring and where to stay on Praslin and La Digue.

What we cover

Curieuse Island and its marine national park — the tortoises of Baie Laraie, the mangrove boardwalk, the Doctor’s House and Anse José, the coco de mer, the reefs of St Pierre — together with the neighbouring islands and sights that go with a visit: Cousin Island, the Vallée de Mai, Anse Lazio, Côte d’Or and La Digue. The practical pages cover transport from Mahé, seasons, wildlife, snorkelling, itineraries and accommodation.

How we work

Practical details are checked against public sources — the Seychelles tourism and parks authorities, Nature Seychelles, the Seychelles Islands Foundation, the ferry and airline operators — and reviewed regularly. Tour ratings, review counts and “from” prices come directly from GetYourGuide; hotel listings from Booking.com.

Fees, timetables and opening arrangements in the Seychelles change, and we say so wherever something is liable to change, linking to live prices rather than printing figures that will date. We are not affiliated with any of the parks, operators or public bodies mentioned.

How the site is funded

The guide is free to read. When you book a tour or a place to stay through our links we may earn a commission, at no cost to you. That never decides what we recommend — see our affiliate disclosure.
